These series of tournaments started in 2008 with three events - the classic Spearboard Open (SBO), the Palm Beach Open (PBO) and the Key Largo Open (KLO). The Spearboard Open (”SBO”) was for many years one of the largest aggregate spearfishing tournaments in the world. The classic SBO rules were applied to the three Blue Storm tournaments around the state of Florida.

This year they have combined the traditional three tournament Blue Storm series into one massive event in one location at the Riviera Beach Marina which is the excellent Palm Beach Open venue.

Our 1st Annual Miami Persistent Open 2010 spearfishing tournament. The start of the beginning of a series of international spearfishing tournaments. Miami Persistent Open will take place in the stunning location of Miami Beach, Florida . 

Pipin Ferreras, the event  host is a world renowned free-diver who has tremendous achievements and stature in the international and U.S. free-diving community. Specialized media such as magazines, TV anchors, photographers, journalists, etc. that have followed Pipin’s career around the world have been invited by him.
